Watercolor Painting for Beginners with Phyllis Parker-Whiteside in WestPort
In this class, you will learn the basic techniques of watercolor painting for beginners. This class will show you what brushes to use and how to use them for a variety of techniques: Wet and Wet, Wet and Dry, Dry Brush, Watercolor Bleeds & Gradients, Spatter, Color Mixing, and more.
At the end of the class, you will have created a Watercolor Painting that is worth framing, and that was a lot of fun to make. And you will have learned a variety of techniques you can use to create your next Masterpiece.

Agenda by day:
Instructor into, intro to materials, discuss student paintings
prep and begin work on painting, explain various techniques, materials usage & clean-up, individual instruction
continue work on painting, explain additional techniques, individual instruction
complete painting, final Q & A, additional resources, clean up.
About the instructor:
Artist Phyllis Parker-Whiteside is a member of the Kansas Watercolor Society. She teaches watercolor painting at Penn Valley Community College. An accomplished illustrator of childrens’ books, she is also a graphic designer, with a growing list of commercial clients.
