Artist Paul Barker's goal for this class is to help you gain confidence with the charcoal medium. This class will focus on the basics of facial anatomy, capturing a likeness, and creating some mystery and mood in your portraits. Paul's approach to portrait drawing is flexible, ranging from academic to expressive, and he'll show you how to simplify the process.Saturdays, June 4, 11, 18, 25. 1:00 – 3:00 pm.

About The Instructor

Paul Barker has been drawing and painting since childhood. In the late 1970s, he worked at Hallmark Cards as a designer and illustrator. He held a variety of positions, including General Manager of Cards, and Senior VP of the Creative and Digital divisions. After a 35 year career at Hallmark, he retired in 2015 and turned his focus towards figurative and portrait fine art. You can see some of his works on Instragram @paulbarkergallery
